Fisherman’s village
Lagun is an authentic fisherman’s village, located on the west coast of Curaçao, also known as Bandabou. Its calmness, purity, awe-inspiring natural’s spots and extremely friendly population make this one of the loveliest neighborhoods on the island.
In Bandabou you will find the most beautiful attractive bays and beaches, crystal clear blue water, outstanding nature spots and important fragments of history. It’s also the perfect place to taste our delicious local dishes! Bandabou is one of the few places on the island where you will be able to see and feel the history and culture of Curaçao strongly. It’s easy to relax when you stay on this side of the island. While driving around the area, don’t be surprised to see a flock of goats or donkeys crossing the street! The Lagun Beach, on walking distance of Magic Villa Oceanfront, is known for crystal clear waters and beautiful coral reefs, which make this beach perfect for swimming, diving and snorkeling. Lagun Beach also gives a unique sight with cliffs and white sandy beach. The fisherman boats come in around noon and it’s possible to buy fresh fish and have a nice talk about their fishing adventures. That’s definitely worth an experience! One of the experiences you cannot miss is diving or snorkeling with sea turtles. Unlike many other beaches on the island, admission to the beach is free.

Playa Piskado, also known as the “Fisherman’s Beach”, is a popular snorkeling spot where vibrant coral reefs can be found below the surface. Thanks to the wide variety of fish on this beach, it is a favorite for fishermen looking for the catch of the day. You’ll get to be a part of the experience as you dive beneath the waters and swim among the fishes and the friendly sea turtles of Playa Piskado.
